Leaf Pickup and Mulch Delivery
Leaves are generally picked up curbside during the months of October, November, December, and March. Residents are required to keep grass, brush clippings and other debris (rocks, gravel, trash, metal etc.) separate from the leaves. Leaf piles containing such materials will not be picked up. Such debris can damage leaf collection equipment. Leaves should be placed just behind the curb in your yard and extend no more than ten feet up into your yard. Our equipment can not reach any further than this. Leaves placed in the street will clog the gutters and storm drains and constitute a traffic hazard. Leaf piles blocked by parked cars will not be picked up. It is not possible for the leaf collection equipment to get into such tight areas.
City crews attempt to service each street weekly, but this may vary depending on the volume of leaves in a given week. Do not place leaves in bags. Every effort is made to collect leaves on each street once per week, however this cannot be guaranteed. The accumulation of leaves to be picked up is affected by many factors including the weather and when residents decide to rake their leaves. You may call 821.3505 to find out approximate pick up areas on a given day. Please note, these are only anticipated pick up areas. At other times during the year, you must dispose of your leaves as yard waste.
Leaf Mulch
Leaves are composted and ground by the Department and offered to residents beginning in March. You may call the City Building (821.7600) to place on order for mulch beginning at 8:00 a.m. on the first Monday in March each year. Only telephone orders are accepted to assure accuracy of location where you want your mulch dumped. Orders are taken until the mulch is gone. Please check the City Newsletter or the News section of this site for notice of this program.
Donations for leaf mulch are accepted. All donations are used for new tree plantings throughout the City. Donations may be mailed or delivered to the City Building (800 Oak Avenue). Donations may be made by checks made payable to the City of Wyoming, by cash, or by Discover, Visa or Mastercard. To make a donation on your credit card by telephone, please call 513.821.8044.
