Call to Action

Now that you’ve decided to recycle, ask yourself, what are other people in my family doing? Does Dad recycle his pop can or toss it in the garbage? Does Mom ask for plastic bags at the grocery store and then throw them away at home?

If so, it’s time to shape up your family (and even if they already recycle, you can talk to them about doing more ). Sit down with your parents, brothers, sisters, and neighbors and tell them that recycling keeps Wyoming green. Explain how recycling keeps materials from going to the landfill where they will take up space and still be years from now. Show them what can be recycled and how to do it. Tell them how recycled materials can be reused and made into new products and how that helps to keep the planet, and Wyoming, clean and green.

You can support recycling:
1. Read labels and purchase products and packages with recycled content.
2. Make sure you place only items recycled in Wyoming in your bin.
3. Clean out containers, remove lids, and keep papers, including newspaper and cardboard, dry.
4. Spread the word on recycling!

I go to Wyoming Middle School. My family composts. We recycle by using the compost in our garden.
